While developing novel microwave vegetation parameters for the quantitative studies of biomass inversion, the project strives to build up a large-scale vegetation monitoring system at both regional and global levels by using the parameters in optical sensors. The achievements of the project are expected to strengthen the surveillance capacity for the ecological system, carbon cycle process and their feedback to climate change, and to have a deep understanding of interactions between biodiversity, climate change, key ecological factors and processes.
