The project titled "Environmental Air Quality Satellite Remote Sensing Technology and Its Engineering Applications" won the first prize in the 2013’s Chinese Surveying and Mapping Science and Technology Progress Award.

RADI scientists including TAO Jinhua, CHEN Liangfu, SU Lin, WANG Zifeng and LI Shenshen, from the State Key Laboratory of Remote Sensing Science participated in this project, which was launched by the Satellite Environment center, Ministry of Environmental Protection in 2006.

The research group started to design and develop the sub-system of this project, called “Remote Sensing Monitoring System of Environmental Air Quality” since 2009.

Updated from the original edition based on the specific business requirements and the operating environment for Environmental Satellite Application Center, the system is capable of producing real-time environmental air quality remote sensing products in mass quantities. This system has been checked and accepted, and put into use formally.
