RADI “English Salon” held its second session on September 12, 2017, which was attended by nearly 30 Chinese and international students. The event was organized by the Academic Division under the Graduate Student Union of CAS-RADI.

The event covered keynote speeches, round table discussion, Games, language partner Pprogramme and so on.

GENG Yuyang, a Ph.D candidate of RADI delivered a lecture about "Wild World in Kenya Africa, sharing his travel story in Kenya, a splendid experience to see so many wild animals on this land. Then, Olipa, an international student from Zambia, introduced how to protect animals in her country.

During Round Table Discussion session, all members were divided into four groups and made theme discussions on "What gift is appropriate on Teachers' Day?" and "What counts most when you choose a job?”

After the discussion, all members took part in “Brain Teasers” session, which is designed to promote the enthusiasm and initiative of English learning in a lively and interesting way.

The activity wrapped up by the "Language Partner Programme", in which Chinese students taught international students how to speak "zodiac" in Chinese, and explained the interrelation between China’s Lunar year and "zodiac".

This event is the second session of "English Salon" held in RADI, which aims to create an ideal platform for the communication between Chinese and international teachers and students. In the future, we will give diversified forms such as, Keynote Speeches, Interesting English Lecture, Round Table Discussion, Group Debate, Interaction Games, English films, and songs, to promote cultural exchange and provide an excellent platform for communication between Chinese students and international students.
