On March 25, Dr. Jörg-Olaf Wolff from the University of Oldenburg, Germany was invited to deliver a report on scientific writing in oceanography at the 114th Earth Observation and Digital Earth Academic Forum of RADI, which was chaired by Prof. LI Xiaoming from the CAS Key Laboratory of Digital Earth Science.
As Chief-editor of Ocean Dynamics, Dr. Wolff’s report focused on the scientific publishing in this journal. Firstly he briefed the history, aims, scope and editorial board of the journal, and then he demonstrated how to prepare a manuscript comparing with the submission-and-review processes in Springer. Finally, he pointed out the possible mistakes made by Chinese scientists in the process of submission.
Dr. Wolff focuses on geophysical fluid dynamics, atmosphere / ocean interaction, ocean circulation theory and numerical modelling, climate physics (ocean, atmosphere, sea ice), coastal oceanography (wave-, hydro- and sediment dynamics). He has published more than 20 research papers in international academic journals.
