RADI celebrated the 11th CAS Public Science Day as part of the National Science and Technology Week lasting from May 16 to May 24, 2015. Themed “Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Technology-driven Improvement in People’s Well-being”, the day received nearly 700 science enthusiasts from Beijing’s universities and middle schools as well as various social sectors.

They visited the remote sensing satellite data receiving and real-time broadcast system in the exhibition hall of RADI campus in Beijing Advanced Technology Facility, obtained a direct understanding of how the satellite data can be received, distributed, processed and applied, and listened to the interpretation about aerial remote sensing images by RADI scientists. In addition, they also visited the exhibition hall of RADI campus in Olympic Village S&T Park, where the development history of China’s remote sensing science is displayed.

In the National Science and Technology Week, the RADI-based Tiandisheng Science and Culture Communications Center organized a series of workshops to facilitate the exchanges between small and medium-sized technology firms and research institutes. Initiated by RADI, the workshop for members of Chaoyang Association for Science and Technology, held on May 19, attracted the participation of managers and technicians from over ten high-tech companies.
