48 RADI Programs Funded by NSFC in 2014

Recently, the review results announced by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) showed that 48 programs of RADI (excluding the programs that are still being reviewed) obtained NSFC financial support in 2014, including one key program, 19 general programs, 26 programs of the scientific fund for young scholars, 1 program for international communication and cooperation and 1 program of the Joint Research Fund for Young Scholars from Foreign Countries, Hong Kong and Macao, accounting for nearly 31% of all the programs of RADI.

Since it was founded in 2012, RADI has attached great importance to application for programs of high-level basic funds, made use of the Director’s Fund to strengthen program pre-studying, conducted program organization and demonstration and improved the incentive system for scientific researches. The programs funded this time has the following characteristics: in the aspect of disciplinary distribution, the funded programs involve 2 disciplines, namely the Department of Earth Sciences (45 programs) and the Department of Information Sciences (3 programs); in the aspect of program leader, it is the 2nd or 3rd time for 21 scientific and technical personnel to be funded, and those young scientists who were supported by the Director’s Fund of RADI in 2012 are the main winners of the fund this time.
