Marius-IoanPiso, Director of the Romanian Space Agency (ROSA), together with SONG Fengbin, European Department Director of China's National Space Administration (CNSA), visited the Sanya Park of RADI on July 1, 2017.
The party listened to a briefing on the construction and operation of Sanya Ground Station, the overall introduction of the Sanya remote sensing industrial park, and a presentation about the development of China’s remote sensing technology and applications. The party also visited the Station’s satellite data receiving room and antennas.
At the symposium, Marius-IoanPiso introduced the prospects of miniature satellites, optical- and radar- load satellites launched by the European Space Agency (ESA), and the satellite data services in the fields of communication, remote sensing applications and navigation. He elaborated the important role of the "Sentinel" series in the early warning of geological hazards. He said that ESA attaches great importance to the development of aerospace technology, and its applications in science and technology, satellite services, security and other fields.
Romania is currently building a high-resolution satellite data receiving infrastructure, which will provide great opportunities in cooperation with China in the field.
