RADI Scientists Visit Mongolia to Promote Cooperation

At the invitation of the Mongolian University of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Education, Culture, and Science of Mongolia, two RADI scientists, Prof. FU Bihong together with Prof. CHEN Fang, paid a visit to Mongolia from March 30 to April 2, hoping to promote substantial cooperation with Mongolian research agencies in the fields of remote sensing application.

During this tour, RADI scientists visited the Mongolian University of Science and Technology, the workplace of S&T Foundation under the Ministry of Education, Culture, and Science of Mongolia, and several Mongolia's research and management agencies such as the Surveying and Mapping Bureau, National Remote Sensing Center, Minerals Management Bureau, and Emergency Management Bureau.

The two sides talked about the potential of building a joint research center for Earth observation from space, exchanged academic views on the remote sensing application in the fields like resources, environments and the disaster monitoring. The two sides also discussed how to expand substantial cooperation in the field of applying remote sensing technology for arid and semi-arid environment.
