Prof. Tom Veldkamp, Rector of the Faculty of Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation (ITC), the University of Twente, paid a visit to the Institute of Remote Sensing and Digital Earth (RADI) On March 13, accompanied by Paul Schoonachers, ITC senior project officer.

The guests were received by Prof. WANG Changlin, Director of RADI’s International Academic Division, who briefed them on RADI about its research progresses, international cooperation, and the operation of major S&T infrastructure facilities. Both sides thought it was significant to find possibilities for further cooperation in terms of research and education.

They were showed around the workspaces for affiliated international organizations hosted by RADI: the International Centre on Space Technologies for Natural and Cultural Heritage under the Auspices of UNESCO, the secretariat of the International Society for Digital Earth, the editorial office of the International Journal of Digital Earth, and the International Programme Office for Integrated Research on Disaster Risk. During the visit, they showed great interests in the presentations of Digital Earth science platform and the satellite ground control system.

The Faculty of Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation (ITC) of the University of Twente provides international postgraduate education, research and project services in the field of geo-information science and earth observation using remote sensing and GIS.
